I said good bye to the house last night at 10 pm after a long day of final packing, said good bye to Thor who sailed to Oahu.. and got out of the final packing. Had a sauna and a glass of wine and reflected on all the work that we have done.. Then back to Mom and Dads where I hope the kids are fast asleep and pack for the three of us for our four day trip to Oahu. All this and get up at 5 to catch a 7am flight. Ok well we did it. Downsizing

Time is flying by and the list are slowly being checked off , but new list generate everyday to take the place of the task that are done. We are packing, packing and more packing. Nothing like have your timeline shortened by one month. We are in full speed now to have the house packed and ready for tenants one month early. It feels as if we will never finish! Where is the light at the end of the tunnel? Our family of four is getting ready to do some serious downsizing. We are 90% done with packing up the house and 50% done with getting Meshach ( our 45 foot sailboat AKA La Casa ready for full time live aboard. I am torn by the prospects of life aboard. My landlubber side doesn't see how we are going to fit all four of us and our stuff aboard our home on water, and my carefree side, the side I like to think is my good side can't wait to simplify our life and just have fun as a family with as little as possible, It is amazing to see how much crap we really accu

We spent the last week on Meshach in Hanalei. This is sort of a practice run for the real deal which is creeping up fast. The kids love the adventure and we are all molding slowly into our new home for the next year. Cozy is the word of the day. It is COZY! The week gave us some ideas of things that need to be changed and added , but for the most part life will be pretty simple. The highlight of the week was our morning encounter with dolphins and having all the friends out for a visit. The kids barge... We also enjoyed hanging out with other boating friends in the anchorage. The weather has been perfect and the water is a clear as a swimming pool. Home now to finish packing up the land house..(one month earlier than planned) then back to Hanalei.
