Happy Birthday Papa!

Image
Today is the 235th birthday of the United States Marines.  It also the 84th birthday of my Papa  (Grandfather) who is also a Marine.  Marines are who are called into to get the job done.  My Grandfather at 84 works circles around many half his age. He gets the job done.  He is someone that I look up to, respect and love deeply.  He more than fought for this country he served and still serves this country. At 84 he will at any opportunity step in when needed.  This year is a different year for him.  Papa always looks forward to this day not because it is birthday, but because his birthday is also a day to honor all Marines who have dedicated their lives.  The Marine Corp Ball is an event he looks forward to every year a year to dress in in their formals, be honored and honor all his fellow Marines.  This year he is will miss the Marine Corp Ball.  This year he is called to serve again.  This year and everyday he serves and car...

Frankfurt- Croatia

Image
The first leg of our trip is behind us and we pulled it off without too many mishaps.  Wine tasting, ferry rides into the city, sea lions on the wharf and a fantastic aerial show by the Blue Angles.  What a  fantastic start to the month long adventure.  Tristan and Sienna are both doing great.  Our new motto is get there when we get there. We think we will start after we get to Croatia, the next two days are pretty action packed.  We are now on the flight to Frankfurt  for 11 hours Tristan is fast asleep in our version of first class ( the small space behind the galley and the back row seats.  Sienna is the hostess of the flight saying hi to everyone if they like it or not… German flight the people are well lets just say allergic to children… we land in about 7 hours and then off to Gunzburg for a quick rest and then LEGOLAND here we come.  Why stop and rest?  Next stop after a long day at Legoland is our flight to Dubrovnik...
